The x Upgrade for the Wadia 860 CD Player

Available immediately, Wadia has introduced the x Upgrade for owners of the original Wadia 860. A solid affirmation of the advantages of Wadia's modular based architecture, the x Upgrade changes two of the Wadia 860 CD Player's internal components -- the digital receiver and main software EPROM. As a result, the cost for the x Upgrade for the 860 CD Player is minimal. The x Upgrade adds impressive new features and, most importantly, enhanced sonic performance. Here is a description of the new technology included with the  x Upgrade for the Wadia 860 CD Player:

24-bit, 96 kHz Digital Input Capability --
The Wadia 860x CD Player's digital inputs now accept and decode 24-bit data at any sampling frequency up to 96 kHz. Now listeners can connect sources such as a DVD player or a 24/96 analog-to-digital converter (like the Wadia 150 A/D Converter) to the Wadia 860x and experience high-sampling rate audio using Wadia's proprietary technology, including DigiMaster interpolation filtering at 96 kHz.

ClockLink Capability with External Digital Processors --
When using a digital processor and/or room equalizer in your audio system, the signal can be directed from the digital outputs of the 860x, into a digital processor, and back into the 860x while maintaining Wadia's proprietary jitter reduction method… ClockLink. This capability is unique in the audio industry.

Improved Performance as a CD Player --
The performance of the Wadia 860x establishes a new standard for all-in-one CD playback systems. Based on the clock architecture of the Wadia 27ix, the 860x clock signal is significantly quieter than previous iterations. This change is audible as an increased sense of air and high frequency clarity, resulting in higher level of listening pleasure.
