The new u Upgrade input for Wadia decoding computers (“u” being an abbreviation for USB) brings exciting new levels of musical realism and excitement to digital files stored on any personal computer or media server. Designed as a mezzanine board for Wadia’s extensive current and legacy digital-to-analog converters (DACs) and CD players with digital inputs, the u Upgrade is distinguished by a new 24-bit, 96 kHz input that acts as a high-resolution pipeline for data transfer from digital audio sources such as PCs. The data can then be processed through such Wadia technologies as DigiMaster™.

“Today’s audiophiles are listening to more digital sources than ever,” says John W. Schaffer, President of Wadia Digital. “With the new u Upgrade’s USB capability, the PC becomes a true media server, and can be easily integrated with a Wadia DAC for enhanced resolution that was previously unheard of for PC-based audio sources. Now, listening to music from PCs or other digital devices is no longer the compromise.”

We are also offering the USB upgrade for the 381, 581 and 781 CD players. Soon we will even offer the USB upgrade for legacy products like the 860x and 861. Now you and your customers can experience computer audio like never before!
